MARIAN S. DENNIS
AVOCA-Marian S. Dennis, 87, died Saturday (Jan. 16, 2010) at her home at 8048 Smith Pond Road.
Born in Barre, Vt. On Aug. 24, 1922, she was the daughter of the late Leon and Anna Clarissa Saunders.
A resident of the Avoca area for over 35 years, Marian was employed at Corning, Inc. for 25 years before her retirement.
She loved nature and animals.
Her family includes her son, Paul (Ellen) Dennis of Michigan; her daughter, Linda Leah Wheeler of Arizona; her three grandchildren, Carolyn Dennis, Steven Dennis and Dennis Chinn; also her nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents, she was also predeceased by her two brothers, Bernard Saunders and Gordon Saunders.
Calling hours are from noon-1 p.m. Thursday at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Hornell, where a funeral and committal service will be held following calling hours at 1 p.m. Thursday, with the Rev. Sande Thomas officiating.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in her memory to either Best Friends Animal Society, 5001 Angel Canyon Rd., Kanab, Utah 8474l-5000 or to Habitat for Humanity International, 121 Habitat St., Americus, GA 3l709-3498.
