EDWARD E. PARTRIDGE, SR.
CANISTEO-Edward E. Partridge, Sr., 68 of 4861 State Route 248 Canisteo, died Friday evening (Oct. 23, 2009) at Hornell Gardens.
Born on Sept. 5, 1941 he was a son of the late George and Marjorie Edwards Partridge. On Nov. 2, 1959 he was married in Avoca to the former Mildred Fox and on Sept. 11, 1982 he was married in Wheeler to the former Majorie Nichols.
He resided in the Canisteo, Avoca and Bath area all of his life.
Ed was employed at Mercury Aircraft in Hammondsport for about 20 years and also by the Gunlocke Co. in Wayland and most recently he was employed for many years at the Musso Farms in Prattsburgh.
An avid stock car racing fan, he also enjoyed demolition derbies and WWE wrestling as well as hunting and fishing.
His family includes two daughters, Jennifer (Charles) Torrence of Hornell and Tracy Partridge of Florida; three sons, Clark (Theresa) Partridge of Bath, Wayne (Mary) Partridge of Alabama and Edward Jr. (Omee) Partrdige of Florida; nine granddaughters, six grandsons; five great-grandchildren; three brothers, Spencer (Caroline) Partridge of Tenessee, Melvyn (Irma) Partridge and Gilbert (Elinor) Partridge all of Avoca;one siter, Virginia (Charles) Burritt of Hornell;one sister-in-law, Judith Partridge of Prattsburgh; also his nieces, nephews and cousins.
Besides his parents, he was also predeceased by one daughter, Kelly Lynn, one grandson, Dustin Burleson; two great-granddaughters, Melanie Rose and Tanya Nichole Strassburg; brother, Carl Partridge; also several aunts and uncles.
Calling hours are from 11a.m.-1 p.m. Wednesday at the Avoca Funeral Home, 22 N. Main St., Avoca, where a funeral service will follow calling hours at 1 p.m. Wednesday, with the Rev. Sande Thomas officiating. Committal services and interment will follow at Valley View Cemetery, Avoca.
In lieu of flowers, those wishing may contribute in his memory to either the American Cancer Society, Souther Tier Hospice or to the American Heart Association. |
